For being “subtext”, Xena and Gabrielle still kissed quite a bit :P And for American TV then that was a huge fucking deal. So. I think if Xena was made NOW, the network would be a lot more lenient to exploring the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, and thus making this comparison unfair.
